Seymour is the ministry liaison for FISH
FISH
is in great need of
donations of canned food at this time. The need has increased
while donations have decreased. Support the Post Office canned
food drive next weekend! We also have a bin for donations
in the narthex which is taken to FISH weekly by Dolores Seymour,
our ministry team leader for FISH.

COTS
(Committee on the Shelterless)
is holding a Home and Hope Fundraising Breakfast on Thursday May

for sponsors for The Human Race. A tour of the facility is
offered on Thursday, May 15 at 10:00 am. Please
call Bonnie Wood at 579-0138 if any of these opportunities speaks
to you. Dot Holtz is our ministry team leader for The Living
Room and can answer any questions you may have.
ROOM
14 AT THE FAMILY SUPPORT CENTER
In
1989 the Family Support Center opened in the old Santa Rosa General
Hospital on A Street behind Santa Rosa Plaza. The Center serves
homeless families providing shelter, food, medical screenings, employment
and housing counseling. The shelter is supported by 20 churches
and local organizations. Our church has maintained and supported
Room 14 (originally Room 121 for you old-timers!) since the program’s
inception.
Hundreds
of individuals and business donors support the center. Other funds
come from the city, county, state and United Way. Individual rooms
are maintained such as ours with donations and labor provided by
the sponsoring organization.
Bob
Orr represents Jubilee
This
year's Jubilee Sunday will be held April 20 ,
and will be a very special day! We will be building the service
around a special speaker, a special dramatic presentation, and other
special elements that will inspire us in our task to overcome the
world's poverty through debt forgiveness. This year's Jubilee Sunday
comes at a most auspicious moment since the Jubilee Act will come
before committee hearings in the House of Representatives and Senate,
and hopefully proceed to a vote on the floor of both houses. We
will all have an opportunity to show our support as caring citizens
and church members by contacting our Congressional representatives
to urge them to support this crucial bill—the most important debt
legislation in the past 7 years. Come April 20th and be part of
a memorable day in the life of our church. It will also be a memorable
day in the lives of millions of poverty-stricken people all across
the world.
