Visit special information tables during our Oct. 5th community picnic to find out how you can help with the FISH Food Pantry, The Living Room center for homeless women & children, the COTS' Family Connection, Habitat for Humanity, and the Women's Recovery Service.

FSC ROOM #14 THANK YOU!

Our church-sponsored Room #14 at the Family Support Center was transformed in September thanks to many helpers! With paints & supplies purchased by your donations, FSC staff & clients cleaned, primed & painted the room's walls & woodwork. During our Sept. 21st work-party, our volunteer crew replaced broken blinds & blankets covering the windows with new blinds & lovely floral curtains sewn by Linda Balfour. We dressed the new pillows & full mattress set & the bunkbed mattresses with mattress covers plus matching sheets/comforters & shams. Our donated dressers replaced old, wobbly ones. Wall art, lamps, etc. were added touches. Heartfelt thanks to all who helped with this project, especially Michael Sweet, Linda Noel, Linda Balfour, Jim & Linda Duckett, Louise & Drew Penna, Judy Cramer, Lauren Swanson, Winnie Hogoboom, Drew Jackson, Ben Horvat, George & Arlene Irizary.

Heifer Project Thank you!

Your donations of coins, dollars & checks filled our "Christmas in July" jar and totalled $249.55 for the Heifer Project! That's more than enough for two goats or two ewes---to be gifted to families in need who in turn will gift any newborn kids or lambs to other families in their community. Thank you, one and all !

Outreach

The church commits to become a living example of how Jesus helped others. That commitment grows directly from relationships begun by individual church members in helping those in the greater Santa Rosa area to those in the wider world. Like many efforts in our church, it is the congregation that first identifies a need, brings individual interest to the wider church, and seeks people to support and advocate for those needs.

Outreach News

The Living Room is looking for volunteers at the daytime drop-in center for women and children. Urgent needs at this time include cloth grocery bags, sleeping bags, and bus tickets. Dot Holtz is our ministry team leader for The Living Room and can answer any questions you may have.

FISH Thank You from FISH! Our FISH ministry team leader Delores Seymour reports that our June 8th food drive for FISH was a success!!! Two trunk-loads of tuna, peanut butter, soups & other non-perishable foods were delivered to FISH ! (That's more than 300 pounds of food!) Heartfelt thanks to all----

Let's Brighten up Room 14 at the Family Support Center The Family Support Center's waiting list of applications from homeless families desperately needing shelter fills three large binders now, according to site manager Juan Aguilar. This is a dramatic increase from a year ago when the waiting list filled only one binder!  If you will help with donations or with your time & talents, please contact Arlene, Linda or Lauren of the Mission & Outreach Board.
