Music
Our church glorifies God through many forms of musical expression. The music you’ll hear here includes traditional hymns, choral music, jazz piano, pipe organ, flute, percussion instruments and acoustic guitar. The choir, a diverse group of folks who like to sing, provides music for most Sunday services during the year.
We celebrate our music program annually with Music Sunday, which is often accompanied by instrumentalists.
The choir rehearses on performance Sundays 9:00-10:10am, and on scheduled Monday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00pm. Singers of all abilities are welcome; come join the fun!
For more information or to get involved in music at our church, contact Director of Music, William O’Neill at woneill41@yahoo.com.
Liturgical Art
Artistic-minded members are encouraged to express themselves through First Congregational’s Liturgical Art.
Meeting periodically throughout the year with the pastor, there's a brainstorming of ideas to express love of God through artistic expression. Creating banners, murals, liturgical cloths, etc, we enjoy working together and experiencing the joy and satisfaction of seeing our ideas come to life and glorify God in their completion. Some of our projects have included paper cranes for the altar on Peace Sunday, suspended dream-catchers, Pentecost streamers, and Advent Art that inspires us all throughout the season. Come and express yourself with our artists
Children's Book: There's No Wrong Way to Pray
Prayers don't have to sound holy to be holy! Author Rebecca Ninke teamed up with her ten year old daughter for this reflection on the importance of prayer in everyday life--why to pray, when to pray, and how to pray. Sometimes funny, sometimes profound, and always honest, the result is a book that will inspire kids of all ages and reassure them that there's no wrong way to talk to God.
Love is Celebrated Here
We baptize infants in our denomination, but will baptize other ages as well. We believe Love is Love. Love is celebrated here.

Love is Louder
LGBTQIA+ siblings know intimately the nature of being deemed an outcast. The clarion call for LGBTQIA+ advocacy is reverberating from state capitol rotundas, family dinner tables, city streets, and church pews.
With more than 547 anti-LGBTQIA+ bills in this year’s (2024) legislative session, our proactive response, now more than ever, needs to be love OUT LOUD.
Love is Louder: Love Your Neighbor OUT LOUD a campaign faithfully supporting the spiritual, physical, and mental well-being of LGBTQIA+ siblings by equipping faith communities with resources and tools for just action and care.
Gender & Sexuality Justice Ministries is excited to release our Love is Louder: Love OUT LOUD Pride resource kit for Pride Month! Our resource kit will release early May featuring liturgy, prayer, our 2nd Love is Louder Toolkit focusing on Queer Theology & Expansive Language, June event offerings and more!
Gender & Sexuality Justice Ministries prophetically brings to life a new campaign rooted in the spirit of Christ’s call to love our neighbors as ourselves.
